Diabetes Education

Diabetes touches every family.  It is the leading cause of blindness among adults ages 20 to 74, and is the sixth leading cause of death in America.  Diabetes can affect the heart and circulatory system, and usually causes nerve damage if left untreated.  To help ensure that persons with diabetes throughout our community can effectively self-manage their disease, we offer free Diabetes education.  We want to enable you to achieve the highest possible quality of life by taking charge of your Diabetes.  Ask your doctor to refer you to the MTSJ Diabetes Educator, Kim Vagt.  You can schedule an appointment with Kim at (209) 223-7448.

Weight Management

Over 60% of all Americans are overweight or obese, an increase of more than 30% in just the last decade.  Losing weight on your own can pose health risks when nutrition, your physical condition and existing medications are not professionally evaluated prior to attempting to lose weight.  In our a 24-week weight management program, you will be provided with the tools to help you regain control of your weight.  A combination of nutrition, exercise and an awareness of how medications play a role in weight management and general health will help you keep the weight from returning.  For more information and to schedule an appointment, please call 754-2518.
