Weight Management
Over 60% of all Americans are overweight or obese, an increase of more than 30% in just the last decade. Losing weight on your own can pose health risks when nutrition, your physical condition and existing medications are not professionally evaluated prior to attempting to lose weight. In our a 24-week weight management program, you will be provided with the tools to help you regain control of your weight. A combination of nutrition, exercise and an awareness of how medications play a role in weight management and general health will help you keep the weight from returning. Massage Therapy
MTSJH started a Massage Therapy program in our Physical Therapy Department because many times an injury in one part of the body affects the entire body. Combining these two therapies successfully helps the body bridge injury to health.
During Physical Therapy visits, a program is implemented to stretch, strengthen, and reduce your pain. The Massage Therapy component is used to calm your nervous system, relax your exterior muscle tension which in turn provides a release for the areas of focus and supporting areas addressed in your Physical Therapy program.
The average full-body massage session lasts one hour. Settings for treatments include both outpatient and inpatient. Alternative time allotments are available. Our office is located on the hospital campus in the Outpatient Pavilion next to the helicopter landing pad.
Appointments can be made through the Physical Therapy Department and is available Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Early morning or after-work visits can be scheduled. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (209) 754-2609.
